Sites to use to check your SERP
One popular site to use is WhatsMySERP.com, but there are others out there as well.  You can also just load up Google and count yourself.  Below is a screen shot of me searching for “webmaster blog” in Google.  We’re at the top of page 3 currently, so our SERP for that phrase would be ’21′.

  1. Another good tool to monitor SERP standings is Raven SEO Tools. It is also free like WhatsMySERP.com, but it does have a limit to the number of keywords that you can keep track of for free. I would simply monitor the keywords with the greatest search volume, and then work on obtaining that #1 and/or #2 spot for those particular keywords.

  2. I used WhatsMySERP.com for the longest time and it brings back great memories of tracking keywords. I recommend getting a more accurate checker like SEScout when you get the money, but I guess if one can’t get it then they probably don’t have too many keywords to track.

  3. I use WhatsMySERP.com right now. I think it’s a great tool, and I’ve never had any issues with it.
